Childrens Christmas Programs Musical Dramas for Kids

SINGIN' THE RED, WHITE & BLUE!
Plot Musical Numbers Cast Production Materials

A toe-tapping, humorous, creative, encouraging and exciting patriotic musical with fun drama parts. Unforgettable inspirational songs and energetic music which you and your kids can present with great enthusiasm and maximum impact. Both children and audience alike will leave with the spirit and courage to keep our country strong! Written by Robert Mantzke and arranged by Dwight Elrich. K-8

We all, both young and old, should know what the Statue of Liberty (the "Lady in the Harbor") really stands for. We also need to be reminded of the meaning of our other national symbols and why they are so important to our country. In this Musical, we introduce to the children and their parents, some of the great characters and symbols which are now taken for granted.

You will be thrilled to hear young children singing about the values that have made us the greatest country in the world. You'll actually meet Uncle Sam and hear him tell, in his own words, the history of the good old U.S.A. You'll also meet and sympathize with Miss Libbie, who is really the Statute of Liberty, as she asks for help to keep her torch held high.

And lastly, you'll be reminded in a stirring way of what our flag, "Old Glory," stands for and why men and women have died to keep her flying over a free America. All of this is done with a lot of humor, action, and just plain fun, with six new songs and a brand new setting for a couple of your old favorites. The best teacher is experience, so let your kids experience the joy and meaning of our American heritage. After you review this musical, you'll find yourself whistlin', hummin' and even "Singin' the Red, White and Blue!"

CAST
  • Teacher - A stern but patient teacher-type, trying to be tolerant with children that are not interested in learning all they should about American history and ideals.
  • Tina - One of the sincere students who does want to learn, is rather serious and does not want to put up with teasing or other foolishness.
  • Scott - A wigly, antsy boy, rather skeptical, who would really rather be cutting school and goofing off. By the end of the show he turns ove a new leaf and becomes a sincere admirer of his heritage.
  • Tony - A charming boy, somewhat hammy, who trys to make people laugh with his corny sense of humor.
  • Uncle Sam - Could be played by an adult. Very authoritative in sharing his memories on how our country started and grew to be like it is today.
  • Miss Libbie (Miss Statue of Liberty) - Acts frail because of her sensitivity to our problems, but shows a deep inner strength and will to persevere with concern for all people.
  • Donald - A sincere boy with high ideals and respect for his country.
  • Susan - Someone who is excitable, loves to daydream about other times and places, not always in touch with reality.
  • Angela - Down-to-earth, sensible with sensitivity.
  • Minister - Non-speaking part. Can be played by child or adult. Needs to make entrance during Hoe-Down to bring peace between Indians and Pioneers authoritatively.
  • Barbara or Bryan - Girl or boy: statesperson, valedictorian type.
